What has credit crunch got to do with unemployment?

Since the credit crunch, we hear reports daily that millions of people lost their jobs, what were those jobs, and what do people have to do in order to be employ and made for things we don't now need?

I'm trying to understand an articles found @ http://www.lot64.com/Thoughts16.asp

and jobs people used to do, were they producing anything productive, if not, then why on earth made them?

Could what they produce was a result of population explosion needs and not real human needs?

But from a scientific point of view, the world is just over populated, those surplus people were employed to produce goods people don't really need, hence any credit problem, those surplus population were lay off.

We should really look at how much people the natural earth can support, not media of exchange can support.

Well the credit crunch has resulted in a reduction on the amount of disposable income people have which means that that they spend less, therefore people who manufacture goods lose their jobs because there is less demand for their products so their Companies lose profits and can't afford to pay people.
